About This Game
Spider Solitaire is widely regarded as the most difficult of the classic solitaire variants. Ten tableau columns are dealt from two decks of cards, and your goal is to build complete same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. Completed sequences are automatically removed from the board. Clear all eight sequences to win.
The game offers three difficulty levels based on how many suits are in play. One suit (spades only) is approachable and great for learning. Two suits adds complexity with red and black. Four suits is the full challenge — only about 1 in 3 games is winnable even with perfect play, making every victory genuinely satisfying.
How to Play
- Arrange cards in the tableau in descending order (King down to Ace)
- Only same-suit sequences can be moved as a group
- Complete a full King-to-Ace same-suit sequence to remove it from the board
- Deal new cards from the stock when you're stuck (one card per column)
- All columns must have at least one card before dealing from the stock
- Win by removing all eight complete sequences
Tips & Strategy
Focus on uncovering face-down cards — they're the key to unlocking the board
Try to keep at least one empty column at all times as a workspace
Build same-suit sequences whenever possible, even if it means temporarily messy play
Avoid dealing from the stock until you've exhausted all current moves
