Zombie Rampage

Zombie Rampage is a survivor-IO style top-down shooter hosted at night.echoforge.games. It's built on the One More Night engine. You drop into a large arena as waves of undead come from every direction. Unlike fixed wave-defense games, the map is open. Weapons and supply caches are scattered across the environment. Finding them is just as important as fighting.

The game has multiple weapon types. Shotguns hit hard at close range and clear clusters. Rifles pick off threats before they reach you. Explosives remove whole groups but need careful positioning so you don't catch yourself in the blast. Weapons wear down over time, so you can't hold onto a favorite gun forever. When a weapon breaks, you need to find a replacement. That keeps every run feeling different.

A day-night cycle controls how enemies act. Zombies are slower and easier to read during the day. After dark, they speed up and get more aggressive. Managing resources during daylight while preparing for nightfall gives each run two phases. Build your position during the day, then hold it at night. High scores track on the arcade leaderboard. Both kill count and survival time matter.

Zombie Rampage draws from the survivor-IO format. Vampire Survivors (2022) brought that style to modern audiences. One character in a large arena, auto-attacking endless escalating hordes, with upgrade choices between rounds. The format spread fast and spawned dozens of games.

Before that, zombie wave shooters were already well-developed in the browser era. SAS: Zombie Assault (2009) put a top-down shooter in an open map with scavengeable weapons and multiple zombie types. That's closer to Zombie Rampage's structure than pure survival-horde style. The day-night cycle pressure mechanic goes back even further, to real-time strategy games that used daylight as a planning window and nightfall as the threat trigger. Zombie Rampage applies that rhythm at the shooter scale.
